BUYER REFERENCE
One guide, fifteen plug families
Domestic plugs and socket outlets are commonly grouped into fifteen lettered types, A through O. The letters describe physical families; they do not replace national installation rules, product standards or model-specific documentation.

SPECIFICATION NOTE
Physical compatibility is only one part of product selection
A plug adapter changes the physical interface; it does not convert voltage or frequency. Earthing, shutters, overcurrent protection, installation dimensions and local certification requirements must be reviewed separately.
FAQ
Before you specify a wall socket
Does the plug letter confirm product compliance?
No. The type letter is a useful shape-family reference. Compliance depends on the applicable national or regional standard and the exact product model.
Does a travel adapter convert voltage?
Usually not. A plug adapter typically changes only the physical connection. Confirm the equipment input rating before use.
Can one socket be supplied for every market?
No universal suitability is implied. Product configuration and documentation must be assessed for each destination market.
